Looking for girls' bedroom decor that does more than a few stickers? With a tapestry you can turn an entire wall into a unicorn land, a fairy meadow or an enchanted forest, without drilling, without wallpaper and without much effort. In this guide you'll find ideas for a unicorn-style girls' room, tips on colours, motifs and fabric, plus simple instructions for hanging.

Why a tapestry is the ideal girls' bedroom decor
Kids' rooms change quickly. That's where a tapestry shines as wall decor for a girls' room:
- Large and wall-filling: A tapestry works like an XXL wall picture and instantly becomes the eye-catcher behind the bed or above the play corner.
- No drilling, no wallpaper: Attach the fabric with double-sided tape, Velcro, thumbtacks or hooks. Ideal for rentals.
- Washable: You can wash our tapestries on a gentle cycle at max. 30 °C. Handy when little hands explore the wall.
- Quick to swap: When the unicorn phase is over, simply hang a new motif.
Designing a unicorn-style girls' room
The unicorn is one of the most popular motifs in girls' rooms.
1. One large motif as the centrepiece
Focus on one main wall with a large unicorn tapestry, for example a unicorn under the starry sky or under a rainbow. Keep the other walls calm. This creates a clear focal point while the room still feels playful.

2. Pick up colours from the motif
Take two or three colours from the tapestry and repeat them in bedding, cushions or the rug. Pastel shades like pink, lilac, mint and light blue suit unicorn motifs, combined with white or cream. If you prefer bolder looks, choose a rainbow motif and keep the furniture neutral.
3. Use accessories sparingly
A string of fairy lights, a few star cushions or a unicorn plush toy are enough. The tapestry sets the mood; the decor only complements it.
More motif ideas for a girls' room
Not every girl wants unicorns. In our girls' room collection you'll find many more motifs:
- Fairies and butterflies: Fairies over a flower meadow or colourful butterflies feel light and dreamy.
- Princess and horses: A princess on horseback in an enchanted forest, or wild horses in the paddock for horse fans.
- Flowers and nature: Cherry blossoms, flower meadows or a pastel rainbow still fit as your child grows older.
- Fairy-tale worlds: Castles, magic forests and mythical creatures are in our fantasy and fairy-tale tapestries.

Girls' bedroom decor by age
Nursery and toddler
For the youngest, calm and soft motifs work best: a pastel rainbow, bunnies in clover or clouds. Light colours make the room feel bigger.
Kindergarten and school age
Now it can get more colourful: unicorns, fairies, princesses and horses are especially popular at this age. Let your child have a say in the motif and the room becomes their own little kingdom.
Teenagers
If the unicorn look becomes too playful, just swap the tapestry. Flowers, landscapes, watercolour motifs or your own photo suit a teen room, with no need to redecorate.
Girls' bedroom decor with your own picture
It gets really personal with your own motif. In the tapestry designer you upload a photo, a child's drawing or a favourite picture and freely choose width and height. If you don't have your own image, the designer offers over 140 million premium motifs (approx. €0.99 per premium photo).
Here's how:
- Click "Design".
- Enter width and height in centimetres.
- Upload your image or search for a premium motif.
- Place the motif and add the tapestry to your cart.
Which fabric suits a kids' room?
All tapestries are made of polyester and printed using sublimation printing. You can choose from three fabrics:
- Standard (Soft Fleece, 100 g/m²): soft, light and opaque. The affordable choice for kids' rooms and everyday use.
- Premium (polyester, 250 g/m²): heavier, drapes more calmly and shows stronger colours.
- Outdoor (600D Oxford): water-repellent and sturdier, intended more for balconies and gardens.
For a girls' room the standard fabric is enough in most cases. For a large wall with lots of detail, Premium is worth it.
Hanging a tapestry in a kids' room
To keep the tapestry secure and the wall intact, you have several options:
- Double-sided tape: quick and removable without residue.
- Velcro: reusable, ideal if you want to change the motif.
- Thumbtacks or nails: discreet at the corners.
- Grommets: With the "With grommets" option your tapestry gets metal grommets at the corners, so you can hang it on hooks or ropes.
